Why Study NVQ Wood Skills?
You will learn about health & safety in a working environment including important regulations e.g. PPE, COSHH, safety signage, risk assessments and common dangers in the workshop.
You will develop a range of practical skills using wood based materials, hand and electrical tools to assist with techniques and improve accuracy and finish.
You will develop your numeracy skills including measuring and working to high tolerances.
This course equates to 2 GCSE qualifications at either G-D or C-A*, depending on pupils’ practical outcomes.
There is no examination aspect to this course, all the marks are awarded through the completion of practical tasks and workbook
Assessment
Tasks will be completed in class and through homework.
